&Beyond’s Botswana Explorer

Okavango Delta – Moremi Game Reserve – Chobe National Park – Victoria Falls

&Beyond’s Botswana Explorer allows guests an authentic way to explore northern Botswana’s wild places without losing out on comfort.

The Botswana Explorer allows guests to experiences the wilds of northern Botswana accompanied by a dedicated guide and in comfort on a mobile safari through some of the most remote and untouched wildlife areas in Botswana. Guest comfort is assured by a customised 4×4 safari vehicle and domed safari tents with private bathrooms, featuring ensuite flush water closets and magical al fresco bucket showers with lashings of hot water. A maximum of six guests on each mobile safari ensures that everyone is guaranteed a window seat and a dedicated professional guide unravels the secrets of the bush on each stage of this unforgettable expedition.

The safari begins in the mystical Okavango Delta, the watery jewel of the Kalahari, where waterways and pools create a magical oasis. From here the expedition travels to the Moremi Game Reserve, a haven for wildlife at the heart of the Okavango Delta and home to large concentrations of game in a park like eden.

The Botswana Explorer then takes guests to Savute in the dry hinterland of the Chobe National Park, one of Africa’s best known game sanctuaries. Savute is known for its large herds of elephants which congregate along its intermittently flowing channel and marsh, a sometimes respite in this dry region.

The expedition progresses to the north of the Chobe National Park to the Chobe River with its magnificent floodplains providing life giving waters to the vast herds of this region in the dry winter months.

The final night is spent at The Elephant Camp outside Victoria Falls and a tour of the world famous Victoria Falls. The Elephant Camp provides excellent tented accommodation away from the hustle and bustle of the Falls, whilst providing easy access to the many activities that are optionally available.

Travel Notes

Game Sightings

This expedition covers some of Botswana’s best and diverse wildlife destinations. The Okavango Delta provides varied game viewing throughout the year.

Chobe National Park is home to herds of elephant, numbering in the thousands, and is arguably the best place in the world to watch these giants.

There are also healthy populations of buffalo, with lion, leopard and even the endangered wild dog frequently seen throughout the destinations visited during this safari. Game cruises by boat will encounter large pods of hippo, large, seemingly lazy crocodiles and any number of animals coming to the water to drink.

Best Time to Travel

Game viewing is good throughout the year with the best sightings of game being in the drier winter months (June to October). Bird life is prolific in the summer months.

Bird Sightings

Birdlife in both the Chobe and Okavango Delta is unparalleled, with more than 450 species, many of
which are regional specials, including the rock pratincole, African skimmer,
rosy-throated longclaw and Schalow’s turaco. The majestic African fish eagle
abounds and flocks of brightly coloured bee-eaters are seen.

Guest Safety

This safari takes place in remote locations with high concentrations of wild animals. Guests are requested to take care at all times and adhere to guidance given by guides.
