Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge peers out over the spectacular Okavango Delta from the shaded forest canopy of wild palms and gnarled fig trees. The lodge is situated in the Chitabe Concession, a private concession deep in the Delta. In this vast 22 500 hectares (55 600 acres) tract of wildlife land adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge has exclusive traversing rights.

The lodge comprises twelve raised suites, mimicking the nests of golden weaver birds. These elegant and intimate suites feature magnificent Delta views along with as well as private plunge pools, fireplaces for winter use and secluded nooks.

Designed to celebrate Botswana craft interiors filled with interest pieces including copper-clad mekoro, Botswana basketware and finely sculpted wooden tables. &Beyond’s popular interactive kitchens celebrates local food with succulent Botswana beef and artisanal breads. The beautifully situated massage sala provides guests with a selection of relaxing massages in the spectacular natural setting.

Boasting one of the best wildlife experiences in the Delta, the lodge combines a magnificent natural location with an unusual yet beautiful design. Golden-grassed floodplains stretch into the distance behind the lodge and are framed by lush palm islands and the spires of giant termite mounds. The beautiful organic architecture of the lodge blends sensitively with one of Africa’s most breathtaking landscapes. Drawing its inspiration from nature, &Beyond’s Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge is serene and earthy.

Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge offers day and night safaris. Bush walks are offered during the day and a children’s programme is available. Scenic helicopter flights by prior arrangement and at an additional cost.

Best Time to Travel

The Okavango Delta provides good game viewing all year round, although animal density is greater in the winter months when game migrates to the Delta from the dry hinterland.

Bird Sightings

The Okavango Delta is ideal for birding enthusiasts. One of its most sought after species is the huge but elusive Pel’s fishing owl. Other species include African jacana, pygmy-geese, goliath heron and migrant waders. Birding is particularly good in summer.

Guest Safety

Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge is situated in a wildlife area and is not fenced. Guests are requested to take care at all times and adhere to guidance given by guides and camp management.
