Ker & Downey Botswanaʼs camps in the Okavango Delta have been carefully selected to provide guests with a choice of iconic safari experiences including, game drives in open topped vehicles, motorboat excursions, walking safaris and Mekoro trips.
The Botswana Safari allows guests to discover the Okavango Delta by exploring the crystal clear waterways by motorboat, enjoying the magnificent variety of bird, plant and reptile species found in the area. Mokoro activities, at Shinde and Kanana Camps, provide the chance to experience the incredible aquatic wildlife of the Okavango Delta. Species such as sitatunga, fish eagles, painted reed frogs and malachite kingfishers are seen.
Game drives with a professional guide are conducted at all camps. These drives are conducted in specially-designed vehicles, allowing unhindered game viewing and photography.
Guided bush walks, at Shinde and Kanana Camps, allow guests the opportunity to get close to this remarkable environment, featuring gems such as red lechwe bounding through marshy areas as well as excellent of birdlife, predators and big game. Walks also take guets to the smaller island of the Okavango Delta where the extraordinary Pelʼs Fishing Owl are known to nest.
Transfers between camps are by light aircraft providing memorable flights across the delta’s myriad waterways, often with aerial game viewing on the way.

The Okavango Delta region experiences summer rainfall (November to April).
Summers in the Okavango Delta are hot with temperatures reaching mid to high 30o Celsius.
Winters are cold in the morning with midday temperatures reaching mid 20o Celsius.
About this Package
With both wet and dry habitat the Okavango Delta ensures a wide variety of wildlife is consistently found in the area, including regular sightings of the rarely spotted Sitatunga antelope.
Best Time to Travel
The Okavango Delta provides good game viewing throughout the year, however game is most prolific in the winter.
The Okavango Delta has prolific birdlife. Including African jacana, pygmy-geese, goliath heron and migrant waders. Birding is particularly good in summer.
Ker & Downey Botswana’s camps are situated in a wildlife areas and are not fenced. Guests are requested to take care at all times and adhere to guidance given by guides and camp management.
