The Shinde Concession, situated in the northern Okavango Delta comprises vast floodplains as well as excellent access to the meandering channels of the Okavango Delta.
Shinde Camps was refurbish in 2015 and is classic camp located on the Shinde Lagoon. The camp is nestled on a lush palm island at the heart of the Botswana’s northern Okavango Delta. Shinde Camp is located in the Shinde Concession an area which teems with both animals and birdlife. The main area comprises a unique multi-tiered dining room and lounge, set under canvas and under the shade of ebony and mangosteen trees.
Comprising eight twin-bedded safari tents, each with en-suite bathrooms accommodation is generally twin share with comfortable three quarter beds, however doubles accommodation is available on request. Shinde Camp has catered for every possible from generated electricity and a private viewing deck through to a handy flashlight. Tents are strategically positioned to offer splendid views, whether over the Okavango Delta‘s mysterious waterways or across open grasslands.
The Camp offers both water and land activities all year round. Game drives are conducted by a personal guide in comfortable, specially designed game drive vehicles. For the more adventurous, guided walks are also available while fishing enthusiasts will enjoy fishing for a variety of species such as tilapia and tigerfish. Motorboats or Mokoro provide a chance to experience the incredible bird, plant and reptile species found in the aquatic habitat of the Okavango Delta.

The Okavango Delta region experiences summer rainfall (November to April).
Summers in the Okavango Delta are hot with temperatures reaching mid 30o Celsius.
Winters are cold in the morning with midday temperatures reaching mid 20o Celsius.
With both wet and dry habitat Shinde ensures a wide variety of wildlife is consistently found in the area, including regular sightings of the rarely spotted Sitatunga antelope.
Best Time to Travel
The Shinde Concession provides good game viewing throughout the year, however game is most prolific in the winter.
The Okavango Delta has prolific birdlife. Including African jacana, pygmy-geese, goliath heron and migrant waders. Birding is particularly good in summer.
Shinde Camp is situated in a wildlife area and is not fenced. Guests are requested to take care at all times and adhere to guidance given by guides and camp management.
